Amazingly enough, we are beginning the second half of the school year. Students should be receiving their report cards sometime during the first week of February. It is important to take a close look at this report. If your child is struggling, please contact their teacher or team to set up an improvement plan.
During our 1/2 day on February 15th, we will be conducting a series of workshops for the students. It is our first attempt at this type of schedule. Your child will be assigned to 4 different workshops. Each workshop will be 35 minutes long instead of our traditional 1/2 day schedule. Examples of workshops include, "Fact or Fiction- Media Awareness", "Tech Exploration", and "Acting Workshop". We are looking forward to this day and hope to enrich our students academically through these activities.
A large group of students went to Hunter Mountain last Friday for a snow tubing adventure. All reports indicated a great time was had by all.
Ms. Patty Mooney is retiring this January. She has served as an Art teacher and Department Chair for 20 years here in Saugerties. I wish her the best. She will certainly be missed by the students and staff.
The winter sports season is wrapping over the next couple of weeks. If your children are interested in playing a spring sport, make sure they sign up through our electronic portal. If you have questions, call the Athletic Directors office at extension 6675.
