Mrs. Rebecca MacDougall
Mrs. MacDougall has been studying and performing music since a very young age. She has been teaching private lessons since she was 14 years old, is a church musician, comes from a musical family and has over 18 years of experience teaching music in public schools. She was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to Houghton College for Piano Performance and was granted a full scholarship to the Chatauqua Institute of Music for summer study. She was the recipient of the Albany Musicians' Award and received an asistantship to complete her Master's degree where she studied Vocal Music Education. Her former teachers include; Stanley Hummel, graduate of Julliard, Dr. George Boesflug, graduate of Eastman School of Music, Dr. Brown, graduate of Eastman School of Music among others, as she believes in life long learning. She loves to share her knowledge and passion for music with her students. Several of her students have gone on to study music in college and have won musical competitions. Her students score very high at NYSSMA evaluations. Currently, Mrs. MacDougall is conducting the Senior High Choir and the Treble Ensemble. She is also teaching College Music Theory (every other year), Voice Class I, II and III and Piano Class I and II.
