• Book Care & Tips

The library reviews general book care tips with all Cahill Elementary School students at the start of the school year. Sadly, many books are lost and damaged each year. In order to make books available, and in good condition for the book exchange, we ask that you remember the following tips.

    1. Make sure that your hands are clean before you begin reading.

    2. Keep books dry.

    3. Keep books away from pets and babies.

    4. Return damaged books to the library. Do not attempt to repair library items by yourself.

    5. Use a bookmarker to mark your page.

    6. Bring books back on time.

Parents:  Reminders are sent home with the student after two weeks overdue.   If not returned after four weeks, a letter is sent home asking for the replacement cost of the lost item.   A refund will be made if the book is eventually found.
