6th Annual Star Party

  • UPDATE!!!!

Star Party has been postponed until 10/27/17 due to the clouds moving into our area tonight!!  Please spread the word!!

    Dear Parents and Students:

Please join us Friday night at 6:00pm on October 13th 2017 (Rain/cloud date Friday October 27th at 6:00pm)at the Saugerties High School to attend our sixth annual Star Party which will offer parents and students a way to bond under the stars. This free event will focus on stars and planets visible in the sky that evening and hopefully with highlights of the Moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and a few meteors. We will have special guests on hand to guide us through the sky from the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association. Please save the date and come out and enjoy the evening. We are anticipating at least 4 telescopes, several as large as 14 inches.

If you will be attending, please let your son/daughters Science teacher know as soon as possible. Also, please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing since we will be outside for extended periods of time. If you have a telescope, please bring it with you and if you have binoculars those might be of help as well. If you have a small flashlight please bring it along. Thank you for your time and we look forward to seeing you all on October 13th at 6:00pm. Please check the district web-page the night of the event to see if the weather is cooperating and the event is still being held.
