•  Welcome,

The start of the 2017-2018 school year marks my 32nd year as the school social worker for grades 7-12 .  As the social worker I  work directly with students, staff and parent/guardians to help facilitate a positive and productive learning environment for all.

I also manage ReDirect and am proud to announce that ReDirect continues to be a very active office for all students and staff and is located in the  Junior High Counseling Center.  ReDirect, working closely with staff,  faculty and administration,  addresses issues of bullying, harassment and discrimination in addition to other problems and concerns that may be effecting our students. We have an open door policy but we do encourage students to come by during homeroom, lunch and/or study hall depending on the issue.  Immediate attention is always given to crisis and safety situations.

Mr. Averill and I are  Co-Coordinators of the Dignity Act and we do attend on going trainings offered by BOCES.  Specific goals of the training are to educate, inform and motivate staff to implement this law with expertise.  Session have included Dignity Act review of background and definitions, district's doing their own needs assessments and cross-district networking.

This year I am an active member of our Jr High PBIS team.  PBIS is an initiative that will help facilitate a positive climate and culture.

I welcome all calls (247-6662) and emails (gkiniry@Saugerties.k12.ny.us) from parents/guardians and I look forward to working with you and your children.
