A Musical Journey to China at Cahill Elementary!

The musicians played four songs using a variety of fascinating instruments, including:

Guzheng – a beautifully resonant plucked zither

Suona – a bold and expressive double-reed wind instrument

Guanzi – another double-reed folk instrument with a rich tone

Hulusi – a unique free-reed wind instrument with a hauntingly beautiful sound

After the concert, students had the exciting opportunity to try playing these traditional instruments themselves! With experience performing across the United States and around the world, these musicians brought an unforgettable cultural experience right to our students.

Chinese Club Advisor Sarah Elia shared that the club meets Tuesdays after school and new members are always welcome!

What an amazing opportunity to explore music, culture, and history all in one afternoon!
