🐝 Spelling Bee Buzz at Grant D. Morse Elementary!

In the final round, Eliot Lirtsman, a Grade 6 student, clinched the win with the word “spectators.”

Next up, Eliot’s information will be shared with the Scripps National Spelling Bee for Region Four representative. She will take an online 50-question spelling and vocabulary test in early February. The top scorers from across the region will move on to the regional bee.

This marks the first Morse Spelling Bee since before COVID, making the event an exciting return for students and staff. Schools across the district, including Cahill and Riccardi, also brought the tradition back this year.

Thank you to our judges, Hilarie Wiacek, Karin Maines, and Principal Kristina Giangreco, and congratulations to all 16 participants for their hard work, courage, and school spirit. Way to spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S!
