What a whirlwind of a day at Grant D. Morse Elementary School!
Kate shared her fascinating journey into the world of weather forecasting.
From fluffy cumulus clouds to the dance of high and low pressure systems, Kate made learning about meteorology as fun as a sunny day at the beach! 🏖️⛈️ And who knew a simple balloon could hold the secret to understanding lightning? ⚡
But the real highlight? Witnessing a miniature tornado swirling right before students' eyes with the use of two bottles! 🌪️🍾 It was like magic, but with a splash of science! 🔬✨

Big congratulations to Luke Pomeroy, a Grade 4 student at Grant D. Morse Elementary School! In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene (September 24), recovery is still going on and can seem impossible amidst the debris and destruction. But organizations like Convoy of Hope are stepping in to restore hope, and the Saugerties National Honor Society is lending a hand.

Grade 3 students in Amy Dunaief’s art class at Grant D. Morse Elementary School recently had the amazing opportunity to learn from local weaving artist Halyna Shepko! Not only did they get hands-on experience weaving, but they also learned about Shepko’s Ukrainian culture.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week (October 6-12), our Saugerties Elementary Schools got an exciting hands-on lesson in fire safety! Students learned crucial tips like how to stop, drop, and roll, watched firefighters in action with their gear, and even got to explore the inside of a fire truck!
