Although summer break is not officially over, many Riccardi teachers have already been attending meetings and organizing their new rooms in preparation for the first day of school. Over the last two months, the District has focused on consolidating its four elementary schools into three school buildings as part of a restructuring effort to help “right-size” the District financially and academically. Administrators were tasked with reassigning teachers, and staff and custodial and maintenance crews were busy moving furniture and classroom items from one building to another. “What we accomplished in a short amount of time is unbelievable,” said Superintendent Kirk Reinhardt. “I attribute it to our phenomenal staff.”
