Teachers Keep Students Curious with Mystery Science

Teachers begin by browsing a catalog of lessons they are required to teach. These step-by-step lessons include opening videos, discussion prompts, and hands-on activities, where students conclude with an experiment or a model build in order to solve the mystery themselves. Grade 2 students at Riccardi Elementary School were just starting to learn how mammals differ from other animals. Grade 2 Teacher Gina Pellegri says the program is very thorough and encourages deep learning.

Grade 3 students at Riccardi Elementary have been diving into the science of ice during the region's recent frigid temperatures! With overnight lows around 6°F, it was the perfect time for hands-on learning about freezing water.
