Dear families:
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news with you that I accepted an administrative position at a neighboring school district last night and will be embarking on a new journey beginning April 1.
Saugerties is a special place and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I am so proud of all that we have accomplished together. Over the past three years, we have been met with many challenges, but no matter what came our way, we always found a way to work together to meet the needs of our students.
I am proud of the way that our District came together during the most challenging situation of our lifetimes: dealing with the pandemic. I am grateful for the trust, support, and flexibility that our families showed during this time. It is because of this that we were the first District in the area to return students to in-person instruction.
While reorganizing our district was a complex and challenging time that I whole-heartedly wished was not necessary, I am grateful that in the end it has resulted in our ability to enhance our programming to enrich our students’ educational experience. We have achieved remarkable success in pushing our graduation rate over the 90% threshold, and these changes have positioned the District to continue to achieve.
I am also so grateful that our community supported our much-needed capital project. I am eager to see the addition at GD Morse and the refurbishing of our main campus auditorium.
In the coming days, I will be working with the Board on a transition plan to ensure that our work continues.
I truly feel blessed for the time I spent in Saugerties working alongside such a committed group of professionals. Our faculty, staff, and students are incredible and I will cherish my time spent serving this wonderful community. I will continue to watch the successes of the District with pride.
Please be kind to one another,
Kirk Reinhardt
