First Day of School... Again! Cahill Teachers Celebrate Their 'Anniversary Year' Kickoff!

Whether it's their 28th year in the classroom or their 4th, our dedicated educators from Cahill Elementary School were  excited to start another fantastic year of learning and growing with our students. Saugerties Central School District Superintendent Dr. Daniel Erceg recently took a break from his daily responsibilities to visit with a group of the District’s elementary school students who meet regularly to talk about stuttering. The request came from speech pathologists Kelsa Shanley and Kathryn Mendoza who believed the students would benefit from hearing firsthand from someone in a leadership role who also experiences stuttering—someone real, not just a celebrity. Without hesitation, Dr. Erceg agreed.

On May 20, Saugerties held its fourth Superintendent’s Conference Day of the year at the High School campus. The day focused on how staff can empower students to help create the ultimate Sawyer experience.

Student government representatives from all three elementary schools recently traveled to Albany for a special visit to the State Capitol — and thanks to some great timing, the day turned out to be even more exciting than planned!
