Key Dates to Remember:

  • June 4: Board of Education Special Meeting to discuss the School Budget in the High School Media Center at 6:30 pm (Executive Session) and then at approximately 7:00 pm (Public Session.) There is also live stream on our Youtube channel, so you can watch from home
  • June 11: Public Hearing on the approved budget
  • June 18: Budget Revote

If you are interested in learning the details of the budget and having your voice heard, we encourage you to attend this Tuesday's meeting. Your participation is vital to the future of our schools and the education of our students.

Saugerties Central School District Superintendent Dr. Daniel Erceg recently took a break from his daily responsibilities to visit with a group of the District’s elementary school students who meet regularly to talk about stuttering. The request came from speech pathologists Kelsa Shanley and Kathryn Mendoza who believed the students would benefit from hearing firsthand from someone in a leadership role who also experiences stuttering—someone real, not just a celebrity. Without hesitation, Dr. Erceg agreed.

On May 20, Saugerties held its fourth Superintendent’s Conference Day of the year at the High School campus. The day focused on how staff can empower students to help create the ultimate Sawyer experience.

Student government representatives from all three elementary schools recently traveled to Albany for a special visit to the State Capitol — and thanks to some great timing, the day turned out to be even more exciting than planned!

The Saugerties Central School District thanks our voters for their continued support. On Tuesday, May 20, Saugerties residents approved a $79.9 million budget for the 2025–2026 school year by a vote of 1229 to 465. We appreciate all the registered voters in our community who took the time to cast their ballots.
