Honoring Tradition with Creativity: Junior High Students Craft Sugar Skulls in Spanish Class

These colorful treats were inspired by the traditional sugar skulls from southern Mexico, which are often used to honor the dead during Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Through this hands-on activity, students explored how different cultures remember loved ones, gaining a deeper understanding of this unique tradition while crafting their own festive creations.
