The event, featuring heartfelt introductions and patriotic songs, aimed to express gratitude to these brave individuals for their service to our country. During the ceremony, students also gained insights into the military experience, learning about the significance of various patches and pins on uniforms, what areas of the world these veterans served in, as well as the personal reasons behind their decisions to join the military. Some of these veterans include alumni of Saugerties High School, current staff members, and even grandparents of some of our students. This experience, we hope, will leave a lasting impression on both the students and the veterans.
