Poyer and Mitra Recognized for their Achievements in Athletics and Academics.

Representing Saugerties were Sydney Poyer and Veer Mitra. Veer was unable to attend as he was competing in a sectionals tennis match—demonstrating the very dedication the event celebrates!

Congratulations to both Sydney and Veer for your hard work and commitment on and off the field.

This year’s keynote speaker was Dave Gettleman, former teacher and coach at Spackenkill High School, who went on to become a scout for the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants, and later the General Manager of the Carolina Panthers. His message reminded students of the value of perseverance, character, and leadership.

After winning 1st place in the Mid-Hudson Athletic League Doubles Tournament, Nathan Petherbridge (Junior Captain) and Veer Mrinank Mitra (Senior Captain) continued their winning momentum—earning 2nd place in the Section 9 Tournament!

Saugerties High School was alive with curiosity and discovery on May 29 as six students took center stage at our 4th Annual Science Research Symposium. These dedicated young scientists presented their original research to an audience of family, teachers, mentors, and peers—each project a testament to months (and years!) of hard work.
