Principal's Award 2023

Sekhon, who has a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 100.151, has immersed himself in school and community activities throughout his High School career. Sekhon has served as president of the Class of 2023 and treasurer of the R.C. Aircraft Club. A talented athlete, he is the captain of the Boys Varsity Soccer team and the Boys Varsity Tennis team and, in previous years, has competed in Varsity Track and Field. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and the Building Leadership Team.  Outside of school, he can be found volunteering at the Saugerties Public Library.

Sekhon said that he would like to thank his soccer coach, Michael Riley, for all of his support over the years, as well as High School Principal Tim Reid, who provided him with many opportunities.

The Principal's Award recognizes a student who strives for excellence at school and is hardworking, enthusiastic, reliable, and able to get along well with other students. ”Shaan is the epitome of what a great student is,” said Reid. “He balanced his academics and school life very well, is always willing to help out, and cares about others.” Reid said that he’s going to miss seeing Shaan in the building next year. “But I’m excited to see what opportunities he’ll have post high school!” he added.
